Do you like puzzles? Would you like to work at the intersection of language and technology? In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to improve the Natural Language Generation tools authors and linguists used to produce content at scale for Expedia Group. You will learn how the tool set is used to author and localize various types of content, deeply understand areas of development and the strengths and weaknesses of the technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to build and communicate user stories, working with users, TPMs, and engineering teams to ensure that new features reflect customer needs. The result will be seamless descriptions of destinations, lodging accommodations, and activities that will be read by customers across multiple brands and geographies. And you'll be joining a phenomenal team!

What You'll Do:

  • Build a deep understanding of author and linguist's challenges and opportunities
  • Build a deep understanding of customer's challenges and opportunities (customers sometimes being users, sometimes brands, and sometimes travelers… and often all at once!)
  • Compose user stories and communicate them clearly, using diagrams, mock-ups, narratives, etc.
  • Create clear lines of communication to facilitate understanding of user stories and all relevant use cases, collaborating to ensure that requirements solve for use cases and are extensible to future use cases
  • Ensure a clear process to register agreed upon requirements/scope and that there is a clear process during development to agree upon and register changes to requirements/scope
  • Organize UAT for tool users
  • Build training documentation for new tool features and functionality, including videos if applicable
  • Work with engineering on ways to quantify tool stability issues on users and customers
  • Take the lead on bug tickets, assist team members on ticket submissions to minimize back and forth
  • A deep understanding of all feature enhancement requests, be able to effectively communicate the value & status of any story to engineering, tool users, and stakeholders
  • Assist engineering with understanding how tools are used and expected functionality
  • Assist authors and linguists in understanding how to use delivered features
  • Influence discussions about prioritization and specifications/solutions
  • Point-person for all communication with engineering to streamline information sharing with authors, linguists, & brand partners
  • Work with TPMs to create persisting processes for collaboration between teams

Who You Are:

  • Highly organized
  • Experience building frameworks for successful collaborations
  • Experience partnering with TPMs and engineering teams
  • Experience crafting user stories and requirements
  • Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change within a dynamic environment
  • Have a passion for language & technology
  • Experience working in technology/eCommerce a plus
