About the role

Are you a curious and creative L&D Specialist with a passion for storytelling who looks for ways to innovate content and design? If so, we want you to join our Learning and Development team supporting Vrbo and HomeAway brands. You will work on complex learning needs, logically structuring and simplifying our content to create original, impactful and measurable content.

You'll be a part of a high performing team of learning professionals supporting 5,000 employees, while also supporting Expedia Group-wide content accessible to 28,000+ employees. Our work involves creating learning content that’s compelling, useful and resonates with our diverse audience. We develop content across a mix of media and have a platform that our audiences are highly engaged with.
 

You will:

  • Innovates through idea conception to connect content solutions to business needs.
  • Has mechanisms for understanding an audience, stays close to their needs and is able to stay current on what they think and feel.
  • For facilitator-led content design: Design relevant and achievable objectives, visually appealing materials and clear guidance for the facilitators to present high quality learning content that works globally
  • For online content design: Design appealing materials and resources that can be converted to eLearning modules, considering content for use in video, graphics, audio, copy, activities and quizzes.
  • Ability to transform problems, and sometimes confused objectives, into informative and digestible content through engaging story forms helping employees acquire knowledge and skills.
  • A meaningful part of your role will be to find the best ways to relate ideas, concepts, facts and information into content: making it easy to understand and internalize.
  • Innovates through idea conception to connect content solutions to business needs.
  • Has mechanisms for understanding an audience, stays close to their needs and is able to stay current on what they think and feel.
  • Push the boundaries of what’s possible in learning, always looking for innovative ways to help continuous learning
  • Designs in collaboration and balances this with a bias to action.
     

Who you are:

  • Presents ideas clearly, with excellent communication skills;
  • Experience in either multimedia design, marketing or internal communications;
  • Instructional design experience (preferred) and/or a background in storytelling and communications (preferred)
  • Analyze source content converting it into powerful digestible learning content;
  • Translate designs into strong visual materials;
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change;
  • Experience in building highly effective content – learning or otherwise;
  • Experience creating end-to-end training resources and facilitating trainings to various audiences sizes and in various formats (virtually, in-person, hybrid);
  • Experience in considering global needs;
  • Experience in planning the production of multiple work streams and multiple content types;
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize based on the needs of the business;
  • Creative thinker who can also organise themselves and others;
