The team at Hotels.com are looking for JVM language enthusiasts, specifically Java, who are highly motivated and disciplined, to join their awesome Hotels.com Engineering team.
As a software engineer in one of the Hotels.com teams, you will collaborate with experienced software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, design and develop new services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high quality results.
You will have the chance to work with business partners, leadership and other software developers, influence product vision and design of our systems. We guarantee you’ll learn a lot and won't be bored!

Our goal is to transform the existing platform into a formidable modern microservices based booking platform that enables technology and product teams to collaborate on getting features out to Hotels.com customers through faster iteration and feedback.
If you have a passion for learning, a can do attitude of using modern technologies such as Docker, Kafka, SpringBoot, Kubernetes, AWS to build a platform that would drive the next wave of features that will delight our customers then come join our journey in London.
The Edge Platform team are nimble and responsible for a critical, high-volume network application built upon Netty, for delivering all traffic for hotels.com and its brands. We strive to writing asynchronous systems using simple self-describing code which is used by all other Expedia Brands. You will be developing capabilities for https://github.com/HotelsDotCom/styx, an open source project maintained by the team, building upon our rendering engine and assets dispatching needs.
The Shopping teams are responsible for the Search Results and Property Details applications in Hotels.com and a bunch of services that provide their data. These two pages are the front and centre of Hotels.com customer journey clocking millions of page views every day and, being at the open end of the Shopping funnel, the focus is on providing a clean shopping experience for the user, whilst optimising conversion. Our general tech stack is Java, Spring, Cassandra, Redis, Scala, Kubernetes & AWS and we are constantly looking out for any new technologies that will push us forward. The components owned by these teams are fully integrated with our CI/CD, allowing us to release every day. With these solid technical foundations, the teams find new challenges in how to deliver brilliant capabilities to better engage our customers, with a test & learn culture resulting in as many as 40-50 A/B tests running on each of our pages at any time.
