Lead Software Engineer (Java)

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer who will design and build systems and services to help us improve our customer shopping experience. The team is responsible for providing high throughput scalable APIs and build and maintain a number of tools and applications.

You will be instrumental in the performance of our team to ensure that we meet the global needs of our business. Bring your passion for software performance and delivery and be part of our success.

What you’ll do

  • You will drive innovation with technologies and solutions in the large-scale distributed cloud services.
  • You'll work to identify new product features and close feature gaps in new and existing products.
  • Collaborating across our team, you'll deliver rapid, iterative new designs and/or new technology proof of concepts and service releases.
  • You will provide technical leadership and participate in development efforts.
  • You'll provide technical insight to the team, delivering recommendations, tutorials, blog articles and technical presentations, adapting to different levels of technical partners.
  • You'll collaborate across a diverse team of internal and external partners.

Who you are

  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems concepts.
  • 9 years + of experience leading or working on complex software projects using Java, Kotlin, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands on experience and knowledge with the fundamentals of cloud computing (including virtualization, multi tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems and content delivery networks).  
  • Experience working in e-commerce, high traffic environment (desirable)
  • BS in Computer Science or Math (or related technical major) or equivalent experience.

We believe in flexible working and this role could be fulfilled on a flexible working set-up, this can be discussed during the interview process.
